PI Update: Rain
It was a rainy night tonight, but what better place to spend it than beautiful Pleasure Island. The Spring Break crowds are gone and we're in that lull period now prior to Memorial Day weekend kicking off the summer tourist season. The rain doesn't help. Several Celebrate Tonight sessions were cancelled; not a stiltwalker in sight! Nothing to report on any of the clubs.

Does anyone know anything about

at bonnet creek?? Sounds cool but I haven't
checked it out yet.
I've not heard of it personally but the hotel website indicates that it's the hotel's main bar. Only open until midnight. No indication about music or entertainment.

Hey, I was wandering around there tonight, too, grabbed dinner at Puck's Cafe.

A little 8TRAX would've been good for the soul tonight.

ReplyDeleteBill, definitely no pleasure on Pleasure Island. The island is still making revenue from 3rd party rentals of the shops and restaurants but very, very little revenue from the Disney-owned bars and snack hut.

Anon, it's a tremendous amount of money lost. Conveniently, it can be blamed on the poor economy rather than the poor decision itself. But that's just covering with excuses rather than holding anyone accountable.
It's weird... I'm writing this from near Hotel Plaza Blvd., in town for a week on a business trip, which accounts for my daytime activity. But on similar nights a couple of years ago, I'd always be at PI; now there's just nothing here (other than cab it to Citywalk or head into town.)
