DS Update: NBA Experience

Progress continues on the new NBA Experience building that is going up where DisneyQuest was razed. That black stripe across the bottom will apparently be the location of a scrolling announcements and scoreboard type of electronic board.

This Weekend In Techno Town

THURSDAY APR 25
I don't recall DJ Klingande (F) playing in Orlando but regardless, he's playing this Thursday night at Celine and it's sure to pack the place!  Deep House / Tropical House.

FRIDAY APR 26
A huge name in the business is Los Angeles-based DJ Christopher Lawrence (USA) and he joins Robb Blak (USA) and Suzy Solar (USA) for the return of "Lost In Trancelation" at Bikkuri Lounge.  Psytrance / Trance.

I got to check this one out because I've never seen DJ Sneak (CDN) live and he's known for putting out the House. DJ Atnarko (USA) opens the show on the patio at Elixir!  House.

OK, I don't know anyone in this lineup except DJ Losman (USA) and I heard him for the first time a few weeks ago at Bar B. I can attest that he delivers!  Plus there are fun times at Peek Downtown.  Breaks.

SATURDAY APR 27
The Breaks continue on Saturday night at the next edition of "Wake and Break" at Bikkuri Lounge. This month's lineup includes DJ Bebe (USA) plus Molecule (USA). The Breaks crowd will be out!  Breaks.

The very first DJ concert I ever went to was opened by DJ Sandra Collins (USA) and it's exciting when she returns to Orlando to play. If you've never seen her, you need to come out to Iron Cow this Saturday night!  Progressive House.

Well it's been awhile for these two. It's Canada night at Celine as DJ's Felix Cartal (CDN) and Frank Walker (CDN) represent Vancouver and Toronto respectively.  Electrohouse / EDM.

SUNDAY APR 28
The Vegas-style pool parties are back at Aloft Hotel downtown and this week the awesome DJ duo Cocodrills (USA) will be performing poolside!  House.

DS Update: City Works Delayed

This was the picture we posted on the Blog this past December advertising that the new City Works Eatery and Pour House was opening this Summer, 2019.

But seemingly like every project at Disney Springs these past few years, the opening here too has been delayed and it now shows Winter, 2019. And since the only month remaining in 2019 that includes Winter in it is December, that must be the new ETA. The restaurant with microbrewery will be located at the west end of the NBA Experience complex. We'll keep you updated.

DS Update: Jaleo Is Open

We're a bit late in reporting this but Spain-themed restaurant Jaleo opened for business last month in the spot formerly occupied by Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe.

And like nearly every other new restaurant in Disney Springs, it too has a quick serve option to the side of the main entrance, this one called Pepe. It offers sandwich options.These are not a Latin American "Spanish" venues like Bongos but they offer the food of mainland Spain.

Club Reports: Shine, Monkey Bar, Ace Cafe, Elixir & Celine

Began my Saturday night at Wall Street Plaza and dance club Shine. It's in the location once occupied by Slingapours.

DJ Eric Draven (USA) was pumping out Hip Hop and Top 40 hits.

The club's theming is steampunk and that shows up best at the DJ booth itself.

As it was early, there was just a few people in the club.

But this place gets wall-to-wall packed just a bit later!

Also located in Wall Street Plaza is the hidden gem Monkey Bar!

Resident DJ Dity (USA) was pumping out the House!

The bar was already seeing some activity.

While the dance floor was just starting out.

There's fun to be had here every Thursday, Friday & Saturday night!

Next stop Ace Cafe for "Planet of the Drums".

DJ Circle K (USA) was playing when I arrived.

The dance floor was getting full!

Dancers in a frenzy for Drum & Bass.

Circle K's regular event "Torque" usually takes place on Mondays which makes it impossible for me to attend. So when they had this special Saturday night edition, I had to go!

His selections were kind of odd during my visit.

But those there were bouncing to it!

Last stop was Celine and it was straight to the rooftop for me!

To see DJ Anthony Attalia (MEX).

This place was PACKED!

House music all night long!

He had played last year at Elixir and that's when I became acquainted with his music.

Some songs with vocals, some without.
