PI Update: Late Night Disney Springs

After 9+ years of next to nothing when it came to nightlife at Walt Disney World, the Mouse decided to get back into the game in 2018 with "Late Night Disney Springs". Originally slated to run just over Spring Break through Easter, it's been a hit and is now currently extended at least through the end of September with possibly another extension!

We begin with The Edison which did bring a nightlife option of its own to the Pleasure Island section of Disney Springs beginning with its NYE party on December 31st.

DJ Mynd (USA) was in the perch when I arrived around 11PM.

The dance floor was active and staff was beginning to relocate some of those dinner tables to expand the floor.

The music Top 40 hits both current and past.

It ain't Mannequins, but what is?

The DJ booth up high like that is reminiscent of MDP though!

Every hour there are 25 minute DJ sets which alternate with 5 minute dance routines, 5 minute trapeze routines and a 25 minute live band sets. At midnight it goes full time DJ set!

Some of the equipment from when this was a power plant still occupy The Edison building.

You can never go wrong with Can Can girls!

Or trapeze artists!

Live band coming on playing more popular dancing hits.

You can find all this on Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights!

You can find DJ's every night of the week at STK Orlando.

We found DJ Ish (USA) on the decks during our Saturday night visit playing popular music from various decades!

Never much of a dance crowd here normally although that group in the far corner was dancing around their table!

And the bar had a crowd even at midnight.

And now over to PI's Waterview Stage for their popular Thursday, Friday, Saturday night dance party!

Michael Wycoff sets include dozens of 1-2 minute samples of dance hits including EDM!  The fast pace keeps the dance floor busy!

He typically runs the Thursday and Saturday editions of the dance party!

There is a full-liquor bar stationed nearby!

That t-shirt is a reminder that in his spare time, he runs some of the Incredibles Super Dance Party sets at Disney's Magic Kingdom!

It's not often that I can say this anymore about Pleasure Island. But a good time was had by all!
