Club Report: Mango's Tropical Cafe

The Blog has been following the progress of the conversion of the old Sports Dominator building from its infancy.  And now, after literally years of work, the Orlando branch of Mango's Tropical Cafe has finally opened!
No expense was spared for the opening night extravaganza!  Live band performing from the mezzanine overlooking the main room.
Singers and dancers performing throughout the night!
This bar behind the main stage makes for a great vantage point for the live performances!
With club bartendresses making stage appearances about every half hour!
If you're dining and can't find your waitress, chances are that she's gone on stage!
Packed for opening night of this new branch of the famous South Beach club!
Will be interesting to see how this plays out in the long run.
You can never go wrong with Go Go girls!
Lighting techs working from this overlook upstairs.  The actual DJ booth seems to be in that room in the background overlooking the stage.
Although last night it was unoccupied and the DJ was operating from the lighting tech area.  The music was a lot of Latin beats mixed with Top 40.
There is a second floor outdoor patio overlooking International Drive to the east and Golden Corral and Chevron to the north. The rooftop tiki bar is not finished yet and I'm told is a few months away.
Also upstairs, I noticed what appeared to be a separate room behind large doors. I went inside and omg, found a different dance club in here!
DJ Damian Daniels was in the booth spinning a mix of classic Hip Hop and Reggaeton!
It's a large room and the dance floor was packed!

I don't like that the DJ booth is a glassed-in separate room than where the clubbers are.  They could have made the DJ a focal point.  But if you want a club atmosphere rather than show room, this is the place!
Back in the main room, Mango's also spared no expense in bringing back MJ from the dead!
Overall Mango's is first class in every way; beautifully done! Very large! Valet parking only but the garage adjacent the Orlando Eye is only a two block walk and may be your quickest free option. My call brand drink was $8.50 but then they added tax and 18% service charge to it for a total of $10.68, so not cheap.
The logo store was open.
A great new option for a night out in Orlando!  A good time was had by all!

  1. It's always better for the Dj to be away from the public. :)

None of that dealing with requests crap. Just focusing on the tunes.

  2. Dealing with requests are a hassle but if you're in a separate room, you ain't gonna feel the mood on the floor. And thats more important than dealing with requests.

  3. As long as you can see them groovin to what you're playing, that's all that's needed.
