Club Reports: The Groove, Red Coconut Club, Suite B Lounge

Had not been to CityWalk on a Saturday night in a long time so on this first night of Universal's Mardi Gras concert series featuring Olivia Newton-John (AUS), it was time to do just that. First stop The Groove where DJ M-Squared (USA) is the Saturday night resident.
Good size crowd on hand in the club!
Music was the expected Hip Hop.
But that's what the crowd ordered.
Music ranged from current Top 40 hits to old party classics from back in the 90's.
Whoa!  You can never go wrong with Go Go girls!
M-Squared kept the pace moving quickly with a lot of songs played in 30-second clips.  I don't usually care for that but for whatever reason it seemed to work last night.
Moving next down to the Red Coconut Club!
Thursdays and Saturdays at the Coconut are Latin Nights featuring DJ Leony (USA)!
I've seen it more packed than this but the club and dance floor were hardly empty!
Various Latin dance genres played throughout the night along with Leony's famous House mixes.
RCC has added a new DJ booth which is directly over the dance floor and makes it much easier to feel the crowd.  DJ Leony also plays most Friday nights at the new Gilt Nightclub.
Just don't stand in the water!
Headed next downtown from CityWalk to club favorite Suite B Lounge.
While Suite B is Orlando's home of Breakbeats, last night was dedicated to House music and arrived to find DJ Rob Prynge in the booth doing just that!
Taking over at 1AM, DJ Sarah Myers (USA).
Small but lively group of dancers on the floor!
Getting into her set of pure unadulterated House music!
With a lot of Deep House tracks mixed-in too!  Sarah is from Washington DC where she is a resident DJ at Flash Nightclub.
Spotted on the dance floor: Househeads Stephanie & Andrea
Before 2AM there was suddenly quite a crowd in here!
And a good time was had by all!

  1. I don't like those fast paced 30 second variety of tracks neither.

  2. A lot of people don't. Those are the djs that feel like they need to set the record for the number of songs played in one night.
