PI Update: Remembering The Historical Plaques

(CLICK ON IMAGES TO ENLARGE)  Just like Disney Springs has/will have a historical back story to explain why it's there, Pleasure Island had one too.  At each bridge to the Island there was an overall Pleasure Island back story plaque such as the one pictured above which was at the No. 2 Bridge.
This one was posted in front of Mannequins.
This one explained the history of the 8TRAX building and was located to the left of the downstairs entrance.
And the Lombard Promenade which ran from The Waterfront area up the hill to near the Adventurers Club.
In August, 2011 there was a purge on the Island of any remaining club signs that had not been taken down previously post-closure.  The remaining historical markers came down too.  But curiously, they overlooked this one at the Pleasure Island Administrative Building, better known as Fuego by Sosa Cigars.  It remained in place until the building's demise late last year.

  1. It's a shame that there still aren't any clubs opened or fixed up.
So that adults can party after 10:00 PM, to 2:00am.

P.S. Just think CityWalk will be getting all the party people.

  3. Anon at 10:42pm, there will be nightlife. We just don't know what it will consist of. We know it won't be clubs, apparently.

Anon at 11:!5pm, don't know the current status of the dance floor in Mannequins. We know it was there a year ago but with active work now taking place inside, we don't know what's left.
