DTD Update: More Car Park Photos!

Our readers are demanding more Car Park photos, so here they are!
Downtown Disney's first of two parking garages!
Appears to have topped-out now at 5 levels.
Construction much farther along here on the west end than on the east end.
But I can definitely see this completed in time for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
They'll need it!

  1. I find it odd that they didn't build these across the street with moving walkways over the street like Universal. I'm sure they would have had to relocate the casting building but it would have left DTD looking a lot nicer from the street.

  2. I agree. The way the street view looks now is terrible, but eventually, they will have the I-4 exit directly into the parking garages, so hopefully by then Disney will have it looking much better.

  3. Anon, probably the most unpopular thing at Universal is the location of the garages and the distance to CityWalk and the theme parks. No need for Disney to do that.

Ray, I expect the garages will be well-decorated and blend in to some extent.

  4. I hope they add a walkway like Citywalk has, So if it rains our cars or us guest wont be getting wet. Also it makes you wonder if Disney will be soon charging for people to park, after all they invested the money for the Parking Garage.

  5. ClubMaster, the garages will be free. None of the malls around Orlando charge for parking and that's who they're competing against. Universal needs to figure out how to offer free parking to non-theme park guests if they want CityWalk to thrive.

  7. I believe it's discounted for Fl residents after 6, free after 9 for Fl residents.

  8. At Universal CityWalk, beginning at 6pm Florida residents get in free and everyone else can park for $4. Then it's free for everyone at 10pm.
(This does not apply during Halloween Horror Nights.)

New Disney Springs artwork was recently released, showing the look of the future I-4 exit that will soon lead directly to the Downtown Disney/Disney Springs area and its brand-new parking garage:
