PI Update: Mannequins Was Open This Past Weekend!

Mannequins Dance Palace was open this past weekend! But don't get too excited because it was not open as a dance club. The front foyer was being used by the Raglan Road beer cart to sell beer and Raglan Road t-shirts and the door was open for supplies and to run electrical lines. You can see the open door at the rear! Unfortunately, the Raglan bartender on duty had not been inside and could not comment on the existence of the revolving dance floor!
First time we've seen Mannequins front door open since the early morning hours of 9/28/08 when we stumbled out around 2:45am!  One more song! One more song! One more song!

The crowd demanded an encore song and DJ Dave Cannalte (Promo Only, AAHZ) played the last song ever in Mannequins.  It's been way too long folks!  Thanks to Blog roving reporter William for this on-the-scene report!  This is news you won't find in the Sentinel.

  1. This was a rare oppertunity, I would of paid the person in front of manniqueens $50 to go inside and allow me to take 4-5 photos of the dance floor and the interior, she or he could of turned their head.OR better yet video!! or If were desperate enough video it!! just run in even if there yelling at you and video the floor and bar and where the light system used to be then just run out and run back to your car before disney security could find out what happend. This is only a suggestion.

  2. LOL... Clubmaster, Love that idea! Not sure if I would have been the one to run in there, but I sure love that thought!

  4. So, they would need a music/lighting system--not cheap I know, but still, building otherwise seems ready for use, if power and supply lines and revolving dance floor all inside.

    Mr. Iger, open this club.

  5. It sure was an experience. When the floor was packed during the great Gay Day's
of the early 2000's .WHAT A RIDE......

  6. Gay Days doesn't even use Downtown Disney Area hotels any longer as there's no reason to be next to DTD.
I noticed that the Tom Joiner Morning Show Family Reunion, held every Labor Day weekend, is now offsite too. No reason to be next to DTD.

  7. How many times I ran up those steps to get inside as fast as I could to start the evening! Greeted by the blaring base and incredible lighting.... Ahhhhh, felt like home.

  8. I remember those Gay Days a few years ago. The line to get in was longer than the line to ride space mountain. Total screw up by Disney!
