Amid rumors that Disney would make some kind of announcement about Pleasure Island in October, someone unofficial posted on the WDW Magic website that she's hearing that "some sort of announcement" might come this Wednesday, September 19th. Someone with more posts then stated that "I've been told that an official announcement of new plans for PI should happen within a month." That puts us back into our previously posted October rumor. Someone else then posted that the new theme for Downtown Disney will have an 1800's-setting! The Blog had heard a New Orleans-setting about 6 months ago.
Regarding that Mad T-Party rumor we posted last week, the Administrator of that website stated this about that: "The Mad Tea Party thing is nothing to get excited about. If it still happens, it will be a small overlay of a musical act and some merchandise. Don't get your expectations up for this one."
So that's the latest......from beautiful Pleasure Island!
Old world theme fits in because you have Portobello and the Fulton's boat that you can't really dismiss. The only thing is, if it is an 1800s theme, Paradiso and Curl are going to stick out unless they get some new signage and exterior refurb. *confused*
ReplyDeleteDoes a 1800's theme really breed any excitement to anyone?
ReplyDeleteCome on Adventurers Club!
ReplyDeleteWhen it said a big announcment most likely the P.I.'ers and the nightclub and party people thought that they were going to open up the clubs and let P.I. shine.
ReplyDeleteIt has been four years, don't the Disney people think that P.I. has been closed long enough.
A "New Orleans setting" sounds exciting to me; especially during Mardi Gras season.
ReplyDeleteWe'll see if Disney announces anything tomorrow (Wednesday)!
ReplyDeleteAdventurers Club sure because no need for lights big sound system (amps) DJ(s)
ReplyDeleteCHEAP AND EASY!
No announcements today so we'll stick with the rumor of DTD/PI announcements coming in October.
ReplyDeleteWe’ve been chased by angry dingoes
ReplyDeleteTook a bath with Pink Flamingoes
Eaten Passion Fruit in East Beirut
We shot down with our guns
In the Grenadines, we rested
In the Philippines were bested
By a flummox in our stomachs
That soon had us on the runs.
Kungaloosh!
Kungaloosh!
ReplyDeleteThere actually was an announcement yesterday about Downtown Disney so whoever said one was coming was not wrong.
ReplyDeleteNext weekend "Jack & Sally" from Frankenweenie will be doing a "Meet & Greet" outside AMC Downtown Disney 24 near Harley-Davidson.
It keeps getting better!
I am very disappointed in Disney for letting us down time and time again. There's no reason why the Mad T Party couldn't be brought full swing to Pleasure Island and Mannequins reopened. TDO is plain out of touch and needs to be replaced. I'm thinking of cancelling my vacation to Disney next summer.
