PI Update: Andre Caram Band At Waterside Stage

As reported exclusively by the Save Pleasure Island Blog last Saturday, Downtown Disney Entertainment is testing having the 'Andre Caram Band' (ft Drey-C) performing twice per week (Wednesdays & Thursdays) at the Waterside Stage at Downtown Disney Marketplace.
The half-hour long sets are at 7:30pm, 8:30pm and 9:30pm and the half-hour in-between features Top 40/Dance music by DJ Andrew Michael.
The music is pretty much the same that they play on the Purple Stage on beautiful Pleasure Island; it's all Top 40/Dance which means it's all EDM!  Examples included songs by Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, Chris Brown and Maroon 5.
The larger stage means Drey-C can move around a lot more, has professional quality lighting effects (including a lighting tech) and a better sound system.
And they're able to utilize both female backup vocalists instead of just one. Two = better views!

Large crowd of all age groups were sitting in the seats or standing at the rear adjacent World of Disney.
As the evening progressed and it got darker, the lighting effects became more pronounced.
Lights, smoke, better sound and best of all, a lot more seating makes this a much improved venue than what is available on the IslandDisney also hopes to attract more Brazilian tourists to DTD this summer.

Thus, as the show progresses in the coming weeks they will be adding new songs (including some Brazilian tunes) and also bring different elements to the show such as back up singers that will interact with Drey-C more. For now the band will still play on Pleasure Island on Friday and Saturday nights at the Purple Stage at Celebration Plaza.

  1. Based on the one photo, it looks like Andre Caram has quite a fan club of girls. :-)

  2. Yes, they are mostly in their young teens but he's hardly the first male singer to market to that segment.

  3. Shame on them for playing that disgusting wife beating has-been Chris Brown whose lack of talent has only been eclipsed recently by Miley Virus.

  4. Disney needs to Move Andre Caram to fridays and saterdays. This way they can still target his biggest audience, teens. Because school will be starting soon.
