DISNEY, OH DISNEY! What have you done? There is just no place else in the world like Mannequins was. How could you close it! Bring it back. It would be a destination all by itself.
The Island was fun. The Island was unique. I enjoyed club-hopping, usually visiting three clubs a night depending on how we felt after a busy day at the parks. Now we spend more time at other places around Orlando where we can actually have fun at night and play. Doesn't Disney miss all the money that we spend when we look elsewhere for fun places to go after we're done at the parks? It makes no sense. The empty buildings are wasted potential. Open them up again please!
Anon @ May 14, 2012 9:21 PM I will tell you how and why! because most of the people who NOW are sad it's gone would not come out and support PI! thats why!
Yeah, is'nt it time you opened up Mannequins, 8Trax, soundstage, and Comedy Warehouse, and Figure something interesting for Adventurer's Club. Remember there are alot of people supporting Pleasure Island, so don't disapoint us.
If you look at a list of the world's TOP 10 clubs, I've been to 3 of them: Pacha in NYC, The Guvernment in Toronto & Ministry of Sound in London. They're all good but mainly because of the DJ's they bring in. None come close though to light and sound systems that Mannequins had. I think this video does a good job displaying how incredible Mannequins was!
Anon May 15, 2012 10:43 PM but they will do like before and come at 1st then stop and Disney will close the clubs AGAIN! TOO much risk!
OK so what your sayin (in my opinion) is that the DJ that was in Mannequins was not all that! or should i say Disney uppers f*cked by tell the DJ(s) what they can play? oh by the way I find not true I have been out on sundays and the DJ would play some kick *ss stuff! so...... can't really say it was Disney's fault!
Most of the DJ's that played at Mannequins were pretty damn good. The closing of the clubs was all about THINKING they could make more money leasing the spaces than running clubs. As we approach 4 years since the clubs closed and still no mention of ANYTHING new, I think that just maybe THEY WERE WRONG!
What a frickin awesome club Mannequins was.
