Club Report: Retro Room

Had not been by Retro Room since the 8TRAX Reunion last month so needed to check it out.
Live band Switch aka Nerd Ranger was in the house playing 80's hits!  They used to play monthly at 80's Night at The Groove but with that night at CityWalk cancelled, the best place to catch them will be at RR.
DJ Boston was in the booth playing 80's and 70's Disco between band sets.
People would get on the dance floor during the DJ sets but pretty much just dance in place during the band sets.

Starting to see more Disney CM's coming out to Retro Room.

Overall kind of a light crowd for a Friday night but hardly empty; Saturdays are better.  But if you liked 8TRAX at Pleasure Island, this is the only place in town that you can re-experience it!

  1. Love Switch--will they be there every Friday?

  2. No, not every Friday. Bands are expensive, especially compared to DJ's. They will be back at Retro Room though on Friday, April 13th.

  3. As for Antigua, the owners Church Street Entertainment have decided to close up and sublease the venue that has been open since 2001.

  4. Anon, thanks for the information. I was not able to solve what was going on there.

I liked Antigua but was not a huge fan because the music was "all over the place".

  5. Readers, DJ Pete from 8TRAX returns to the helm this Friday night at Retro Room playing 70's Disco and 80's Classics.

For his fans who prefer more contemporary dance tunes, Pete will be playing this Saturday night at Pat O'Brien's at Universal CityWalk.
