PI Update: Chilly Island

First visit to beautiful Pleasure Island for 2012 and it was pretty darn crowded out there!  Appears that not everyone here for the holidays has gone home yet.
The Andre Caram Band featuring singer Drey-C was putting out Top 40/Dance hits from their usual spot. The band performed on NYE at the Waterside Stage in Downtown Disney Marketplace.
Good crowd on hand watching although most were staying seated and bundled-up in the chilly night air.
But who says there's no dancing on Pleasure Island!
The human statues continue to pose on the Island as well.  We understand that current Island entertainment options are contracted to perform into October so no real changes expected at PI anytime soon. Prior rumors to the contrary have come and gone.  In fact, sources say it could be a couple more years before anything actually happens out there.   But we sure hope something will at least be announced way before then!

  1. Bob, what did they do to the back of the Pleasure Island sign?

  2. They have some lighted Christmas decorations up there. But only on that sign. The sign at the #2 Bridge doesn't have any decorations on it.

  3. And by the way, we received a report that the scrolling message part of the main PI sign out by Buena Vista Drive (across from Hess) was not operating earlier this week. It was operating normally last night.

  4. Better get used to the occasional circuit party here and there. The Pleasure Island once known will not ever be again. You know that is right!

  5. I don't KNOW that is right. But I FEAR that is right. We'll know for sure once the revised plans for Hyperion Wharf are released.
