This weekend is the much-awaited Disney D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. Their last full scale convention was two years ago and it was at that event that the Fantasyland Expansion was announced.
The last convention took place nearly a year after Pleasure Island closed and one of the big disappointments was that there was no mention of PI whatsoever. Of course we now know that they had nothing to announce. But that's not the case now. The Hyperion Wharf concept was announced last Fall and that is now on indefinite hold and possibly canceled. With construction permits recently filed with Orange County for the club buildings and the Blog rumor about third-party operated clubs possibly returning to PI, clearly something could and should be announced. This is what's on their calendar for 3:30pm-5:00pm PDT (6:30pm-8:00pm EDT) this Friday:
Join Tom Staggs, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, as he gives D23 guests a special behind-the-scenes glimpse into some of the exciting projects currently underway at Disney's parks and resorts around the world.
thanks keep us posted :)
