For those who have read the
Save Pleasure Island Blog for awhile, this video is a re-run. But the
Blog has so many newer viewers from around the world that I thought I would do a repeat. Dating from the early days of
Pleasure Island, these are short and long commercials that used to run on
Disney's closed-circuit television channel for
Disney resort guests. This is
PI at its best.
Hope to have a PI Update for you tomorrow!
Reopen the clubs with some new exciting formats and it will get crowded again!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a fun looking place! They should open something like that at Walt Disney World!
ReplyDeleteAny Adventurers out there catch Marcel in the clip?
Kungaloosh!
How did the Explosion Dancers get on the MDP rooftop? Seems kind of dangerous and maybe unnecessary. But it looked really cool in the commercial.
and more........
ReplyDeletethe place will never be anything close to what was in the commercial.
ReplyDeleteWatching that made me tear up.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a dynamic place Pleasure Island used to be! The commercials totally drew me in to the place and made me want to go... Too bad it's all gone now.
ReplyDeleteThey replaced all of that stuff in the ad with.......grass......how wonderful. Nice work Disney.
ReplyDeleteYeah, some of the fashion is outdated...but if PI had never existed, and this was announced, can you imagine how excited the online fan community would be?
ReplyDelete71, you are so right. And I think downtown Orlando and the other theme park-based clubbing venue have to be concerned about competition possibly returning at Disney. No one puts on a better show than Disney.
ReplyDeleteJoe, is Marcel the monkey that briefly crosses the screen?
Yeah, Marcel the Monkey was an early AC character. He showed up again during the last Hoopla. Having accumulated a good deal of money through wise investments, he marched all the members out of the club for a year-long safari. It was a nice way to close the show.
ReplyDeleteJoe, I never got to experience Marcel! But the year-long journey has long finished; it's time to REOPEN ADVENTURERS CLUB!
