Spotted on the
Twitpic website, the Colonel from
Adventurers Club is now for sale at Disney Property Control! This is not a good sign that
Adventures Club is ever going to come back, at least not as we knew it. Not a good sign that AC is going to open up at Hong Kong Disneyland either, as was once reported.

It's a shame that the Colonel from AC is going for sale.
ReplyDeleteIf they do reopen A.C. most likely it will be something else.
I also don't understand why they're opening up an Adventurer's Club in Hong Kong, what do they know about "Kongaloosh".
I think it's pretty silly them doing that.
The Hong Kong AC was supposed to be more if just an interactive restaurant rather than a comedy club. But still sad he's being sold. I wish I was in FL so I could put a bid on him.
ReplyDeletethere you all GO!
ReplyDeleteThis really is a needless insult on Disney's part. If the AC is never coming back, the Colonel should have been permanently warehoused, or at least quietly destroyed, rather than rubbing salt in the wound by putting him up for sale.
ReplyDeleteMore proof that the folks in charge have absolutely no clue about the significance PI had in a lot of our lives.
I'm surprised he didn't end up in someone's office like alot of those more specific props from closed attractions.
ReplyDeleteGeez, that kilt he's wearing leaves a lot to be desired!
ReplyDeleteSo who wants to bid on it? Will to proxy bid for ya!
ReplyDeleteSo how much is he going for?
ReplyDelete1k minimum, silent auction style.
ReplyDeleteZulemara, how much did Manny the Mannequin cost? $1000 for the Colonel seems ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteJust a heads up on Twitpics Terms of Use...

If I thought I could actually get the Colonel for that much, I'd bid on it myself (if I had access.) I bet it goes for five figures.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the terms of use. I have updated the article to comply. Appreciate it!
ReplyDelete200 was starting bid, we bid 250 and won
ReplyDeleteWord amongst the AC fanbase is the Colonel was pulled, auction canceled. No idea why.
ReplyDeleteno way!
ReplyDeleteThe Colonels model has been used before, I could have sworn I saw him as Shrunken Ned at Disneyland.
ReplyDeleteColonel Suchbench was pulled from there for a VERY GOOD reason; he was never supposed to be there. Also this is part of a MUCH LARGER developing story that I can not say more about at the moment. KUNGALOOSH!
ReplyDeleteWOW.....major developing story about the Colonel and the Adventures Club. Do share when you can!
ReplyDeleteBelieve me KingBob I wish I could, but for the moment this is all that can be said. However, now is a very good time for everyone who wants PI back to sends some letters and e-mails to cinch the deal! KUNGALOOSH!
ReplyDeleteSend to Staggs or send to someone locally? Who do you recommend comments be sent to? We have hundreds here willing to email someone to bring back PI!
ReplyDeleteYou can send letters to Iger, but typically, his office will forward anything having to do w/ WDW back to WDW to handle.
ReplyDeleteSOMETIMES, his office will become involved.

KUNGALOOSH!
Bob, you should repost the names and addresses for everyone one to see. I hope there really is an underlying story here.... Emails and letters will be sent immediately. AND, I never knew the story of DVC and Saratoga Springs..the selling of the last unit being the same day as the closure being announced. I would have been really pissed if I had bought into it then.... I am a DVC member, but at OKW (was always a quick bus ride to the island, and enjoyed it so much down here that I decided to move here 10 years after we bought into DVC.) I would be really upset had I been told as part of the "selling" that it is close to PI, and then they close PI. Thanks for that piece of info...
ReplyDeleteDamnMouse, tonight's article posts all the names and addresses and I'll be adding 1-2 more as soon as I secure them. Thanks!
