PI Update: Island Fun

If you're looking for action at Disney World, there's no need to venture further than beautiful Pleasure Island because this is where you'll find it.

First stop of course is Mannequins to see if they came to their senses and reopened the place. Not yet. But that elevator is still on the 2nd Floor!

Over at the Purple Stage in the West End Ultra Lounge, the band Nova Pop was performing mostly 70's & 80's hits. I was surprised to hear the lead vocalist singing Donna Summer's Bad Girls, a song about  street prostitutes, but hey, this is an island about pleasure and the ultra lounge is at the top of Hill St.!

Who says there's no dancing on the island?  A big group of dancers were moving to the groove while an even bigger group watched from the ultra-lounge sofas and chairs. She followed with classic hits from Kool & The Gang and Thelma Houston so it was enjoyable.

Soundstage Club; present and accounted for.

Adventurers Club; present and accounted for.

Brisk drink sales at Laffers Cantina with John (Mannequins) tending bar.

Over at the Green Stage, Nicholas Marks also draws a crowd for his unique music style. Downtown Disney was pretty crowded Wednesday evening as Spring Break is well into its 5th week. So if action is what you seek, this is where you'll find it!

  9. The musical acts are doing the best they can under the circumstances. Their purpose is to keep people from noticing the empty buildings by creating a diversion. Celebrate Tonight was a disaster IMO and this is clearly better. If they can draw a crowd and sell a few drinks, even better.
