The article from
Freeline Media Orlando is a couple months old but I just ran into it and it provides a good overview of the skepticism surrounding the conversion of
Pleasure Island to
Hyperion Wharf. Click on:

So True, So True, So True....
ReplyDeleteAs an update to something said earlier---another site is reporting that Mickey's Groove in Westside is closing and that space along with Missmatched will be the new location for Harley Davidson. Take from that what you will about the future of its neighbor.
ReplyDeleteI, too, do not see how Disney will prosper with Restauants and shops. They have a Restaurant now, and it declared BK already. Open the clubs, at least 2 for the adults, so the shops and restaurants could prosper. There would be reasons to be there. I remember so many of us would go out to dinner near PI, see a movie, then go to PI for a few drinks and dancing. Now that was the PERFECT Day/Night out!!! I am not too sure now...
ReplyDeleteI think it's time for the Officials to choose.
ReplyDeleteThey are right about one thing they have enough shops and resturaunts.
Now it's time to get serious about deciding to open up 3 or 4 clubs so adults can drink, dance and party.
P.S.
Come on Mr.Bradford you guys wake up and smell the coffee burning.
It was just announced today that Ridemakerz is closing their Downtown Disney Westside Store on April 30. So there goes another one.
ReplyDeleteSo we have Little Missmatched moving from the West Side to the Marketplace location where the $10 store is currently located.
ReplyDeleteThen apparently Mickey's Groove is closing and the Harley store is moving from Pleasure Island to the spots vacated by Mickey's Groove and Little Missmatched. That leaves the Orlando Harley current location vacant. Not sure if that is actually in the same structure as Mannequins/8TRAX or a separate structure.
Thanks everyone for the updates.
One thing i've noticed when eating at several Disney restaurants over the last few months - they don't even have enough people staffed to work all of the tables! Most restaurants were booked for the night or even had delays in being seated but when we got in, tons of tables were empty. If they could staff their own restaurants to fill the tables they wouldn't need to add 3rd party ones!
ReplyDeleteOpen some clubs please! (oh, it hurts so bad not being able to go out there anymore). I can't stand it, we need P.I.-Anony-"mouse" meetings! After all we had to quit cold turkey! Ugh!
ReplyDeleteYes, ironically cold turkey (legs) will be available at Hyperion Wharf.
ReplyDeleteYeah have them open some clubs so they can be empty like they were for the years leading to the closing of PI.....you people are not only delusional but idiotic....if so many people wanted night clubs then how come none of the clubs were in the black?
