PI Update: RRBC Half Gone!


I am out-of-town for a couple days but that does not stop the news from getting published. Blog roving reporter William was on Pleasure Island to get us this picture of a rapidly disappearing Rock'n'Roll Beach Club. He says it's over 50% demolished with the part that's remaining mainly the part that is out over the water.

    I sure do miss those little buckets/pales of alcohol with the straws. That was always a must have at RRBC! All those memories.... I remember seeing Hootie and the Blowfish with Sheryl Crow there back in the day.... Goodbye RRBC...

    DamnMouse72, weren't those buckets called Shark Buckets or something like that? Besides all the alcohol, they tossed a small plastic shark in the bucket too. Tightglove, 8TRAX and Mannequins buildings to remain but subject to extensive renovation if they could just get someone to lease the place!

    Bob, it was called a "Beach Bucket".. It was blue and there was a drawing of a shark on it. The shark and "Beach Bucket" were in pink and green (yes, I still have one...) I can't remember if there were plastic sharks in there, but who could when you finished the buckets?? LOL!

    I think there were other Beach Bucket colours too because I have yellow and also green! Those were some large drinks.

    there was the Man-e-can (or named something like that) in Mannequins looks like a 55 gallon drum! the first ones where black I have one I can send you a pic if you want Bob

    Belle...yes, I now remember the other colors... Thanks for the memories... I wish I would have saved them all! Brian, I don't remember the drink at Mannequins...I wish I did! I just remember Dawn serving me, I don't remember the drinks..lol! I have a picture of the drink menu...I'll take a look and let you know. Man...those were the days!! Miss the Island badly... :-(
