EDM DJ's: A Look Back, A Look Ahead

Orlando was a must-destination for many of the world's top DJ's in 2010. While Miami is considered the most important city in the United States for electronic dance music, one can't deny the importance of Orlando on the dance scene. Many great DJ's live here, many great DJ's perform here!

During 2010 here are some of the big names that visited in O-Town: Paul Oakenfold (twice), Robbie Rivera (twice), Ferry Corsten, BT, Boris, ATB, Victor Calderone, George Acosta, Afrojack, Tomo Maas, Gareth Emery, Sander Kleinenberg, Armando, Ivano Bellini, Sander van Doorn, Tiesto, Roger Sanchez and Fedde LeGrand. Local DJ's performing on a more regular basis included Baby Anne, Icey, Kimball Collins, Dave Cannalte and Jimmy Joslin. Other notable local House DJ's covered on a regular basis here on the Blog included Mickey Bono, Leony, Smooth, X, Richie Rich and Dominick Morrison.

When not trying to save Pleasure Island, I try to keep readers informed about the EDM DJ's performing here. What will 2011 bring us? We have another local favorite DJ Magic Mike performing at House of Blues on Sunday, January 16th for Service Industry Night. And Cedric Gervais will be at Senso on Monday, January 24th. Those are the only ones I'm aware of currently however one of my sources indicated that the #1 DJ in the world Armin van Buuren would be joining the #2 DJ in the world David Guetta for a Memorial Day concert in Orlando. Supposedly #9 DJ Ferry Corsten would be performing too. But my promoter source denies such an event is occurring so we'll just have to wait and see. Expect most of the big names to return to Orlando sometime during 2011.
