Details have now been released for the New Years Eve party at Atlantic Dance Hall and I have to say the price increase is dissappointing. Standard admission this year will be $40.00 + tax (it was $35 including tax last year and $25 including tax the year prior) and includes access to the main dance floor with DJ Tony Z, a free champagne toast to ring in 2011 and party favors.
VIP admission includes the standard admission features above plus entrance into the 2nd Floor VIP area which includes seating, desserts and coffee from 9pm to midnight plus access to a private 2nd floor outdoor balcony for viewing of Illuminations over at EPCOT. Tickets go on sale at ADH this Wednesday.
OMG i would not pay to get into this place!
ReplyDeleteI agree. $40 for what? The same songs 2 and 3 times a night?
ReplyDeleteThey'd have to pay ME to go!!!
ReplyDeleteI kind of wanted to do (PI) Mannequins for NYE! but I went all the time so I didn't really see why I needed to pay for NYE on PI.
ReplyDeleteso yes I agree with everyone here! I never did PI I would NOT pay for a FREE club! lol
I never went to PI on NYE either. The price for one night was more than the PI Annual Pass cost which was valid the other 364 nights.
ReplyDeleteI won't bad mouth the NYE party at ADH. It's the most crowded night of the year so it's a fun party overall with a lot of PI people there. I'm not happy about the skyrocketing cost of going there but apparently Disney feels they can milk it because it's the only adult-only NYE Party on-property. I continue to recommend it but there are cheaper options in downtown Orlando.
The saddest thing is, this (along with the DJs in EPCOT) is a tacit admission by Disney that they know there is a market for PI. They can't honestly believe people only want to go out dancing one night a year. Corporate greed (and pride in a bad decision) keeps TDO from giving its guests what they want.
ReplyDeleteRe: PI. Back in the 90s, there would be national acts and I think a buffet to kind of offset the price. But IIRC, the last 2 years were just an overinflated price for the standard club offerings. A pure money-grab from tourists too uninformed to know better.
Well let's not forget that DisneyQuest at Downtown Disney West Side will have a DJ too on NYE. That's a first and supports what 71Jason just said; Disney knows people want DJ-dance music!
ReplyDeleteThe event will officially be "family-oriented" for all ages but it would have been pretty cool if there had been enough time to organize PI people and buy-out the event!

ReplyDeleteoh come on the village people! really? and other washed up bands!
I had to PI for Many years OK form after it was open after 6 months! I never saw current band!
