Breaking News: Comedy Warehouse Interior Shots

In the past year the Blog has obtained exclusive interior shots of closed clubs Motion, Mannequins and 8TRAX. We now add Comedy Warehouse to the collection. If you've been wondering if anything is going on in there, the answer is an unqualified NO. If the rumor is true that the upstairs is going to be turned into a store and the downstairs into a storage area, there is nothing in there to indicate that such is the plan.  The various levels of seating are exactly in place like they were on September 27, 2008. A little clean up and perhaps some lighting put back in and Lisa, Mark, Mary, Joy & John could be doing some improv in there next weekend! This could still be a very viable and family-friendly venue. I've said the same for Adventurers Club and 8TRAX. They need to reopen these as some of the entertainment options at Hyperion Wharf!

I hope they do reopen Comedy Warehouse and the Two clubs atleast for the nightlife, and dancing, and just have a good time for the adults.

  3. Dear Powers-That-Be:

I'm done playing. Reopen one music club with nightly themes and one comedy club. You win. We know you hold the power.

Just do it and be thankful later. Far less expensive to run two clubs then seven, I agree. Please, entertain the masses and let the party begin...

  5. You know what....yes, I would still spend my money there because Disney "KNEW" how to do night time entertainment! I agree, One Dance Club and One Comedy Club (Or Adventure's Club) would make everyone happy! Yes, Disney pissed me off, but with the reopening of any club I would be willing to forgive everything and put it behind me. I have stopped buying my annual passes and stopped staying at their resorts and stopped going to their special functions (Mickey's Christmas, Halloween, ets.), but I would be MORE THAN HAPPY to return myself and my money to Disney with the reopening of any kind of nighttime venue. Will the ever do it? I HOPE SO!!! When any friends or family come into town, I make sure they all stay at the Universal Resorts so that they can party in the evening. And you know what's even funnier? Their kids have just as much if not more fun at Universal's resorts! I've heard nothing but great things about Hard Rock and Portofino Bay...
I know it's expensive to reopen any of the venues they have closed (liquor license, etc..), but I guess they just don't realise how much buisness through their entire property has been lost. I work at a mall in the entertainment corridor, and I tell people all the time to forget about staying on Disney property. I tell them that Universal has options for everyone in their family and they are going to get a better "bang" for their buck there. And, I just heard that Disney's attendance for this past year was down (they are not reporting Disney World's attendace this year, just Disney as a whole....I wonder why??? And, don't try to blame it on Harry Potter either! I'm sure that has something to do with it but not as much as guests missing the "Island!") Come on you "DAMN MOUSE" higher ups! Do something for the evening entertainment and watch everything on property do a little better.... YES, even the theme park attendace, because if you have people happy "all around", they will tend to stay on property for their entire vacation. At City Walk, you meet people all the time that are staying at a Disney resort and they have come to Universal beacause they have nothing on property to do...and what does that do? It opens peoples eyes to other entertainment in the Orlando area, and guess what? The next time they come into town, they are going to stay at a Universal resort, and if they happen to make it to a Disney Park then they will just buy their theme park ticket. The great thing about Disney World when Pleasure Island was there was that you could spend your entire vacation and spending money right on property. NOW, without any other options on property, people are going else where and realizing that there are other things in O-Town besides Disney. Yep, that's what's happening....and they wonder why their attendance isn't what it used to be. Give some night time entertainment back to property, and people will spend theie entire vacation on property again. AND, YES...I will purchase my annual pass to the parks again and I think that Disney will be surprised to what happens. Just one or two venues...that's all they need!

  7. No problem; duplicate posts have been deleted. Excellent post; could not have said it better myself. There are a number of factors driving the lower attendance at WDW and indeed, one of them is the lack of nightlife. It's one more reason fewer people are going there!

  10. I think we all know that there is nothing in their master plan, but there is still hope that a higher up could still over ride one or two venues....AND, there is also a possibility of a third party doing something... DTD will be in trouble if they also lose HOB. Then there will be nothing there at all for a whole market of locals and vacationers. Damn Mouse Idiots!!
