PI Update: Is Adventurers Club Reopening?

Big thanks to reader Matthew P. who took my horrible photo and improved it. This is peering in to the dimly lit Adventurers Club last night through tinted glass. You can now make out the main lobby/salon. One of our readers posted a comment that someone on an internet forum commented about things being reinstalled into AC. I looked at that posting and someone says that scaffolding was seen in AC twice and each time more artifacts had been reinstalled. Why would they do that unless it was going to reopen or made available for rentals? I'm sorry, but when I looked in I did not see anything reinstalled. The yakoose is still on the wall; the chandelier is still hanging. It was only a quick look in the dark but I didn't see anything reinstalled. Not sure what anyone else saw. Will continue to monitor the situation but don't get your hopes up.

  2. Based on some photos a reader on a different message board posted a while back, they pretty much gutted all the valuable artifacts in AC, and did so rather "messy".
(Looks like the walls need some serious work)

And we know alot of props ended up at D-Street.

Seems like alot of effort to reopen the place, especially if we're talking a temporary reopen.

  3. Anon, sources say RRBC is coming down in October so perhaps they're removing anything left that can be salvaged.

Joe, thanks for sharing the link. Really shows the extent of the damage done by removal of all the masks and artifacts. Yes, D-Street/Vinylmation is FULL of stuff from Adventurers Club.

  5. Actually, the items in question are behind the chandelier. It's difficult to see, unless you climb over the chain and look through the one non-blacked out window, but there are two blanket-type items back up on the wall that were taken down in the gutting. Also, I've been told that the atifacts are still on WDW property, in a warehouse at the studios.

  6. Thanks for the report. As I stated, I could not see anything different during my night time visit. But why in the world reinstall 2 items?

As for the artifacts still being on property, that I believe. They're not going to ship that stuff away if they're going to reopen an AC here at WDW.

  7. Whats easier, use the building you have or build a new one? I vote reuse the building and use the money they save by not building a new Adventures Club to revitalize the PI. I know that makes way to much sense.

  8. Every AC fan backs you up on that. A very family-friendly type of facility, already there and it could be reopened with a relatively minimal amount of work. If they can charge $18 for a balloon ride, they could charge an admission fee here to support it and draw huge crowds!

  9. sounds like you need someone who is fully authorized by the power of the mouse to take a look. Afterall, a CM can be anywhere backstage as long as ID is valid.

  10. I just looked in again today...in daylight...on the wall behind the chandelier. Did not see anything. But it was dark inside.

  12. Mmmmm...I'd love me some Cracker Barrel at DTD.
It'd be a heluva lot better than another Landry's Clone-A-Saurus Cafe restaurant with crappy overpriced food and some lame theme.

  13. I think they put a darker window tint on the glass.
I swear you could see into the Cloob much easier in the daytime.
You can hardly see the opposite waterfront windows anymore.

  14. Isn't Cracker Barrell another version of Bob Evans?

  15. Nah...its SO much better than Bob Evans.

Still, I wouldn't see one fitting at DTD.
Now, Fresh Latin Chicken, on the other hand...that's a BOLD new vision.

  17. I think if that's the case they should reopen the A.C.
As well as the other three clubs.

P.S. C'mon lets get some money going through P.I. by reopening the clubs.
