Pleasure Island Television Commercials

Loyal Blog reader Ken is constantly scanning the internet looking for Pleasure Island articles to share with us. Here's a new gem that was just added: a pair of television commercials for Pleasure Island from back when the place was new. Shows just how incredible it was back in the day when it was promoted and had all facets operating! Shows just how incredible it could be if they promoted it and reopened the clubs! Apparently these commercials used to run on the Disney Information Channel available at on-property resorts. Thanks so much, Ken!
PS- Look at those hair styles!

  4. If it was open, I'd be there tonight! I always had healthy bar tabs there. And they got my dinner money quite often as well

  8. What has happened to the imagination at disney? This place was incredible, every detail was covered. Why can the not do something so incredible now? No budget? No imagineers that creative? Bad leadership? What is the problem? Disney used to do everthing one notch above everone else, have they lost it?

  9. Disney equals high quality in everything they do. At least it used to. Pleasure Island and the clubs on Pleasure Island put Church Street Station out of business and really impacted the entire downtown club scene which is where things were concentrated pre-PI. The empty, decaying PI is a travesty. And the human statues and zither-man can't hide that!

  10. Jokes about fashion and hairstyles aside...if they opened that place today, it would be packed every night this week. "Harry Potter" like crowds, leaving CityWalk and downtown Orlando as empty as Magic Kingdom has been lately.

Instead we get some 80s throwback with a keyboard guitar playing in front of a closed up shack.

  11. 71Jason71, you are SO right. Near the end of July will be the 1-yr anniversary of when I added the Flag Counter to the Blog. I will add it all up buy I know it's over 32,000 hits! People care about Pleasure Island. Except for maybe Studio 54 in NYC, the degree of interest in a nightclub (district) is unprecedented! PI can be reimagined but they have got to come back with some of the clubs. That is what the people want. And a first class night club district for adults would not detract from the "family" experience of others!
