In case you were wondering, there will be no fireworks for Independence Day at Pleasure Island/Downtown Disney in 2010. Not that you would have expected any.
OVER/UNDER PROPOSITION: ~ 20% chance that a club(s) will reopen within the next year.
I'm taking the OVER based on all the information gathered from this blog over time. Still think it's below 50/50, but I like the fact that equiptment is still in Motion. What do the other readers think? Chime in and give a reason.
Mgmt is too stupid and protective of their egos to admit they made a dumb decision. Think of all the money they'd make if they opened a few of the clubs (MDP, MOTiON, 8TX) a few days a month...
Instead, the buildings sit unused, wasting away, waiting for the next big cloned restaurant from Landry's.
I'll give you a reason why they should fix up and reopen the clubs. They would have money made & and a more variety Dancing & fun for the adults and we'd all be happy!
some of you still don't understand. Disney has made there mind up the clubs are gone they will not reopen the clubs we all know that Disney is all about the money but for some reason they don't want the clubs open if they did they would have never closed!
OVER; because just like "Beauty & The Beast", "Cinderella", "Sleeping Beauty", and countless others....we the customers deserve a happy ending AND PARTY HAPPILY EVER AFTER!!
MR. toad's wild ride went away and replace and never came back! and lots and lots of people loved that! Disney doesn't care about the locals! it's not what we want. Disney is a family place! was NOT made for adults! but people with KIDS!
Adults on vacation or there visiting on business or for conventions deserve a place to go in the evening and hang loose. Disney is just for families with kids. Remember some families don't have young kids or have no kids at all. So that argument is mute. Walt Disney World is a 50 sq mi dead zone after the parks close and as a share holder -- I demand better.
I think there is a chance that a comedy club could reopen within the next year but right now I feel that there is close to a 0% chance of a dance club reopening.
I'm out of town right now but upon my return I'll do an article sharing the content of a phone call a reader received from DTD management.
I did'nt know one of the readers was a Disney share holder. Perhaps he may be able to put a good word in for all of us nightclub goers who enjoy Pleasure Island.
