DJ Ferry Corsten Coming to Orlando

DJ Ferry Corsten (NL) is bringing his Once In A Blue Moon tour to Orlando on Thursday, February 18th at Roxy nightclub. He is a DJ that normally spins good-time Dance music rather than just long, drawn-out House sets. I missed his 2009 visit at Roxy but I've had the good fortune of seeing him when he played at Zinc Bar downtown three years ago and then at Pacha in NYC two years ago. With a Thursday night visit this time, it's much easier to stay out late if you can take off on Friday!

  4. DJMag voters made Ferry Corsten the #7 DJ in the world last year so his music was played everywhere including at Mannequins. You're apparently in the minority.

  5. We've got a PeaPod hater in the midst, apparently :) FWIW, he was always my personal favorite at MDP. I think the floor full of folks on the last Friday night who kept chanting "Pea...pod... Pea... pod" after the last song would probably agree.

  6. I didn't know of Dominick Morrison because I never attended early in the week. I thought Dave Cannalte was great too but a visit by me on a Thursday was a rarity. That left Fridays and Saturdays and DJ Peapod! Those are the nights from which my Mannequins memories are made. Always a great mix of house, dance, remixes, old, new!

  7. Dom damn near killed me some nights by going into pop-remix hell. He was capable of a decent set - I heard him do it - but when he was off, wow...

  8. Pop remixes (aka Top 40 Dance Remixes) are a big part of the House/Dance scene right now. They're bringing more fans into the techno scene as the masses grow weary of hip hop. I like 'em!

  10. Amy, sorry for the response delay as I did not see your question until now.

Wanttickets.com is a legitimate ticket ordering site and you can buy there in advance. Looks like $10 plus their nominal service charge of just $1.80/ticket.

If you really want to see him while you're visiting Orlando, I'd recommend you purchase them in advance rather than taking a chance on availability at the door.

another quick question I'm not sure if you can help? My boyfriend is only 20 I'm seeing some sites advertising as a 18+ event and some say it's 18+ for girls 21+ for guys!! I've tried emailing roxy and had no reply :(
don't really want to buy the tickets and get turned down at the door!!
    Thanks :)

  12. Amy, I think the best solution is to just get a new boyfriend.

If that's not practical, then I guess we need to find out. I'll see if I can get an answer to that so give me a few days.

  13. OK, from what I've read the entry policy is 18 for women but 21 for guys. Sorry.
