Merlin Entertainment, the conglomerate that owns Legoland theme parks, has purchased Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven. You'll recall last summer the reports that Merlin was scouting sites around Orlando to open a new Legoland. Although not announced, it's likely we'll see Cypress Gardens reopening in the future as a Legoland! And that IS something that could get tourists in the Orlando-Tampa corridor to venture off I-4 to check it out!

It would be awesome to have a Legoland theme park near Orlando.
