Techno This Thursday at ADH

This Thursday night forget The Groove, forget downtown, forget House of Blues. I spoke to a manager last night at Atlantic Dance Hall and she says this coming Thursday is going to be a Techno Night. They're bringing in DJ Cruise who promises to play lots of Dance music, even if there is no "video" to go along with it. (which is often the case with techno) There will be 2 bars open; the usual front bar adjacent the DJ plus the bar in the far corner. So they ARE expecting a crowd and we do need to show-up in numbers to prove that there is money to be made when Techno is played!!

Admission is FREE. Atlantic Dance is located at Disney's Boardwalk Resort. There is also access via the Swan/Dolphin hotels.

  2. I hope this is good. They might do it permanently if enough people show up! CM's have need a place to go on-property since Mannequins closed.

  3. The same DJ that will be there this week is the one who typically works on Thursday. He is indeed trying to gather a following of CMs. Since we know he is willing to play a couple sets of dance music, it certainly can't hurt to start having more ppl show up and more people request techno on Thursday nights

  6. Can anyone enter the Atlantic Dance Hall on a Friday night or just guests of Disney? Thanks!! :)

  7. LOL Disney can't afford to turn anyone away from that club...

Anyone can go into any guest areas on Disney property. There are no restrictions that if you aren't staying on property, you can't go somewhere. Even the parks, you can get in just not on the ride(or you can stay in the park but can't ride)

So to answer your question, no, you do not need to be staying on property to visit ADH. Think about the locals who go there

  8. Is ADH any fun to go to? What I mean is, I know it's not the clubs at Pleasure Island but is it still fun to go to? Would we still have fun there like the other clubs or is it ho-hum? And if I go, where do I park? Same place as PI or somewhere else?

  9. Scan down to my April 19th article about Atlantic Dance Hall. Whether this coming Thursday night will be any good depends on the size of the crowd and how the DJ responds.

Nothing can compare to Mannequins but if DJ Cruise delivers on the Dance music and a good-size crowd comes out, it ought to be a fun night. The price is certainly right...FREE. Or you can go to HOB for $40.

Parking is at the Boardwalk, about a mile west of DTD. You do have to stop at the entrance gate and tell the guard you're going to ADH. The guard will direct traffic to make an immediate left turn into the free parking lot. From there it's a 5-minute walk up the hill to the hotel where you go immediately downstairs to the Boardwalk itself. The posted picture shows where ADH is at the far end of the Boardwalk.

  10. Which place is more fun to go to? ADH or The Groove?

  11. I think that's a matter of opinion. If you're looking for Techno music this Thursday night, ADH should be better. If you're looking for 80's music, The Groove is the only place.

  12. Yeah, I heard The Groove plays 80's music. What do they play on Friday's? And does ADH play pretty much everything on a Friday night? I'm looking for a place in Orlando to replace PI. Any info would be helpful!!

  13. Well this entire Blog is devoted to finding replacement options for the clubs of PI.

Friday and Saturday nights at The Groove are Top 40 and Hip Hop with a smattering of old techno classics. Both nights get packed.

All nights at Atlantic Dance are Video Top 40 nights played via requests. The only reason this Thursday MIGHT be different is that Management has told the DJ to play techno and this website and a few others are trying to get the pro-techno crowd to come out!

  15. What's the dress code for ADH? Can you wear jeans and a nice shirt or top (club clothes) or something else if there is a dress code. Or can I wear what you would going into PI?

  16. There is no dress code for ADH.

  17. There definitely is no dress code; I've seen a lot of people wearing shorts in there. It is a classy-looking Art Deco facility so it wouldn't hurt to dress like you're a classy person and not a bum....IMO!!
