This Weekend In Techno Town

Been waiting for this one for a long time; DJ Cold Blue (D) appearing up close and personal for "Lost In Trancelation" at Bikkuri Lounge.  With Suzy Solar (USA) & Robb Blak (USA).  Trance.
This past March I saw this guy play around 9AM at the Dirtybird party at Club Space in Miami and it was quite the experience! Friday night he's in Orlando, playing at Celine.  Dirtybird House.
It's never a bad thing when you're rocking to female DJ's and this show Friday night at Vinyl Arts Bar will show you what I mean as DJ's Foxforce005 (USA) & Dani Orieta headline!  House.
Torque is celebrating their 19th Anniversary of D&B in Orlando and they've got DJ Goldie (GB) to lead the celebration! With numerous residents of Torque also playing on the mainstage and out back on the new patio at Iron Cow.  Drum & Bass.
I've never seen this guy before so I can't tell you much about him; might be his first Orlando show. Playing Saturday night at Gilt Nightclub is DJ Habstrakt (F).  Electronic Dance Music.

Concert Report: Elton John (Amway Center)

Having purchased tickets nearly 8 months prior, the big night finally arrived when famed singer Elton John (GB) would be performing in Orlando at Amway Center.
An early stop on his "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" tour, Elton John is finally retiring. Since I had never seen him live, this was a must-do event!
With excellent seats on the floor, I was really excited about this.
Amway Center was sold out.
The crowd largely older given that most of Elton's hits were back in the 70's.
The show was supposed to begin at 8:15PM but at 8:11PM I received a text from my source at Amway telling me the show was being cancelled. The Blog was told Elton had gotten sick in his dressing room. Around 8:30PM a stadium announcer came on and said Elton had an ear infection and the show was cancelled. Many just sat there, thinking it was a joke. It wasn't.
A good time was had one!

Concert Report: World's Largest Disco (Buffalo)

The Buffalo Niagara Convention Center was the place to be last night because on the Saturday night of Thanksgiving weekend every year, it's home to.....
The World's Largest Disco!
Arriving around 10PM and already finding the place jammed!
More bell bottoms and go go boots per capita than any other place in the world!

I don't know if these were the DJ's or not but they really didn't feature them. It was all about the music!
70's Disco music all night such as "Heaven Knows" & "Boogie Fever".
And "Knock on Wood" & "Celebration".
We were doing the "Car Wash" dance!
And doing it right!  It's better than digging a ditch!
There were dance routines on stage.
Pilot and his crew.
The music everyone knows the words to!
I want to fly on this airline!
With 70's clothes back in style again, no one really looked out of place!
Well, maybe a little bit.
"Get Down Tonight"!
Afros were big in the 70s'.....and last night!
70's commercials played on the big screen.
70's TV show posters ringed the auditorium.
The event is a charity fundraiser and some of the celebrities on hand included some of the Brady Bunch kids!
"Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel"
"Let's Groove Tonight"
"Play That Funky Music". The hits just kept on coming!
You never knew what you'd see next!
Estimated 7,000 Disco fans in attendance!
It was like a night in 8TRAX.....but crazier!
Dancing in every square foot of the place!
Obligatory shiny disco ball!
Packed to the rafters!
Deney Terrio hosted weekly television show "Dance Fever" beginning in 1979 during the Disco craze that had swept the nation.
Joined by Blair from "Facts of Life". Where's Tootie?
And five of the "Brady Bunch" kids, although the latter was the "Fake Marcia" from one of the later "Brady Bunch" movies.
Loni Anderson and Howard Hesseman played Jennifer Marlowe and DJ Johnny Fever on the 70's sitcom "WKRP in Cincinnati".  It was fun getting to meet them.
There was a "Grease" routine, a huge touring play in the 70's that was about the 50's.
When the 70's are playing, you just can't be anything but happy!
Nothing brings back the 70's like KC& The Sunshine Band.
Live performance from trio Chic (USA) doing "Good Times" and "Le Freak" for us followed by Sister Sledge hit "We Are Family".  Everyone in the crowd was singing along!
If you think this is for you, save the date! It's pretty amazing!
You ain't lived until you've done the "YMCA" with 6,999 of your closest friends! I don't have to tell you but I'll tell you anyway: A good time was had by all!
