Trip Report: Honolulu

I am off on another journey so while we will have some club reports along the way, there will also be some trip reports. Our first trip report is from Honolulu, Hawaii and is about Diamond Head State Monument.
Parking is $5 and includes all occupants but if you park elsewhere and walk in, it's just $1 per person.
The pathway is initially paved but after awhile switches to an uneven path constructed on the lava of the former volcano itself. So you have to walk with care.
Looking down on the caldera below.
There are tunnels!
There are stairs!
And you eventually reach this World War II era machine gun nest.
Crawl outside and you get several vantage points of Honolulu's Waikiki Beach with downtown and Pearl Harbor beyond!
It's absolutely amazing!
You're hardly alone if you go on a weekend day!
But a good time was had by all!
