Club Reports: Church Street Bars, Peek Downtown, Wall Street Plaza, Monkey Bar, Aero Bar, The Patio

As Orlando prepares for a visit from Hurricane Irma, the Blog went downtown last night to check on the club scene. This is what the Chillers / Lattitudes building looked like on Church Street! Obviously a roof top venue like Lattitudes that has a lot of "tiki hut" decor needs to put that stuff away well in advance of the wind coming.
The former Antigua location was also boarded-up. But other than Magnolia Bar which was boarded-up but open for business, that was the extent of hurricane preparedness that I witnessed. In general we can expect many places to try to be open tonight but that could change with the weather!
So let's check out Peek Downtown where a new modern sign greeted passersby!
Always a good time when DJ Agni (USA) is on the controls playing House & Electrohouse!
Not a huge number in the club on this breezy night but not empty either.
New wall decor throughout the venue!
And curtains have been removed to open up the club to the city.
DJ duo Digital Groove Project (USA) taking over around 12:30AM.
As with downtown in general, Wall Street Plaza had nowhere near the numbers typical of a Friday night.
Dropped by Monkey Bar next for more House music!
DJ Hard Drive (USA) in the booth delivering the good stuff!
Actually a big crowd dancing in this upstairs venue!
With plenty to take your mind off Irma!
Melbourne Shuffle in progress!
Aero is a rooftop venue that was open last night!
The lighting and speakers will get put away as the storm approaches but unlike Lattitudes, they don't have a lot up here that could blow away.
DJ Robin (USA) in the booth playing EDM & House music.
Wasn't particularly crowded up here during my visit but we've seen in the past how packed it gets. Thus, I heard good news last night that Aero is going to be widened in the near future to create more dance floor space!

Down below Aero is The Patio.
Given the lack of people downtown last night, wasn't surprised at all to walk in on just a small contingent on the dance floor.
DJ Dan-e Crane (USA) in the booth playing classic Top 40 hits.
But OMG, he put on the "Cupid Shuffle" and all of a sudden the dance floor was packed!
LOL.....don't know where everyone suddenly came from but people were literally running to get out there!

DJ Parry (USA) getting ready to come on later!
The Patio was the most-crowded of all the venues visited last night and like Aero they plan to be open tonight if possible.  So if you're looking to squeeze-in one more night out before Irma, this might be the place!
A good time was had by all!
