Club Reports: The Groove, Red Coconut Club, Peek Downtown

Way overdue for a visit to Universal's CityWalk complex so that's where I began my Saturday night.  Dropping by their largest club first, The Groove!
Prior to 11PM, the opening DJ was playing from the side booth as the crowd accumulated on the large dance floor.
Saturday night resident DJ M-Squared took over at 11PM from the booth on the stage.
And the dance floor quickly got jammed!
Music mostly Hip Hop hits ranging from back in the day to current, line dances like "The Wobble" and a few EDM songs such as Dillon Francis / DJ Snake's "Get Low".
You can never go wrong with Go Go girls!
But even better and showing off her large.....bottle of gin, Blog-favorite bartendress Katie!
Club management says that more new lighting equipment is on the way for The Groove.
As TG remains the largest and most popular venue in CityWalk!
Moving next over to Red Coconut Club.
Saturday night resident DJ Leony (USA) on the decks!
He was playing an EDM set that got the dance floor fuller and fuller!
Latin Night has been moved from Thursdays to Wednesdays while Saturday night has small amounts of Latin hits but is mostly Top 40 & EDM.
Of course we know DJ Leony from the now-closed Latin Quarter at CityWalk where his House sets in the post-Pleasure Island era helped keep me sane!
DJ Leony still has his weekly radio show "Passport 2 Dance" on RadioDanz.
And he'll be making a guest appearance at 180 Skytop Lounge atop Amway Center tomorrow (Monday) night!
Planned to stay 15 minutes, music so great, stayed 3X longer!
Moving over to the city next for Peek Downtown!
DJ's Leo Montoya & Fobia taking turns with House / Tech House!
Decent crowd on hand kept the dance floor active.
Great music selections!
First time seeing Leo Montoya since last year sometime at Eve Nightclub.

Carlos taking over the bongos!
Always great House music or Breakbeats at Peek Downtown and a good time was had by all!

Yes, they've put a VIP bottle service area at the front of the dance floor by the stage. Has been there awhile now. Other than the small VIP area beside the stage, all the others are upstairs and those are tough sells. People paying VIP prices want to be near the DJ and the dance floor.
