Club Reports: The Abbey, Tsar, The Lodge, The Patio, Washington HiFi, Tier Nightclub, Backbooth

80's Night at The Abbey is back!
And last night 80's band Switch was on hand delivering the hits!
Club was jammed!
Their set during my visit was harder Rock hits of the Guns N' Roses variety.
We'll see if this event at The Abbey is going to become a monthly event again like it used to be.
Spotted: Lockhart resident Kristy with Batman and Poison Ivy
DJ Chris delivering more 80's hits during the band's breaks.
Admission is free and drink prices are downtown standard.
First time visit to new club Tsar!
Friday night resident DJ Jimmy Joslin (USA) in the booth!
The music of the Chill / Ambient variety during my stop.
This Thornton Park area club is located where former speakeasy Don't Tell Anyone used to be.  But the whole speakeasy concept requires you stay hidden and DTA did such a good job staying hidden that they went out of business!
If signs and advertising can get people onto this dance floor with DJ's like Jimmy Joslin, Russian-themed Tsar has a lot of potential!
Next 80's Night of the night was here at The Lodge.
You'll recall this is the venue where the DJ doesn't like his picture taken!  I finally discussed the matter with him and really did not hear a good reason, lol.  Oh well.
Dance floor wasn't particularly populated during my visit.
But the bar certainly was!
And when everyone sings "Sweet Caroline" in unison, there ain't no better place in town!
There's always a party over at The Patio.
DJ Parry in the booth on the weekends spinning Top 40 / Dance / Hip Hop.
Bubble music!  Club was packed last night.
The dance floor is outdoors so you're dancing with the stars!
While lasers and fog keep the mood clubby!
Washington HiFi is located in the two back rooms of The Patio.
DJ Rock Johnson in the booth doing that Hip Hop shit!
While the clubbers were shakin' like a salt shaker!  Enough of that.
More to my liking was the music at Tier Nightclub.
Arrived to an absolutely packed big room!
DJ duo Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano (NL) already in the booth!
Putting out loud, in-your-face Big Room House!
Last saw this Amsterdam-based duo play at Electric Daisy Carnival - Orlando in 2012.
Clubbers enjoying hit "Come Follow".
You can never go wrong with Go Go girls!
Last stop of the night for "Footloose 80's" night at Backbooth!
DJ Adam Wright in the booth has been delivering 80's here on Friday nights.....since the 90's!
The stage where live bands play on other nights becomes part of the dance floor!
I-Bar's Saturday night format limits their 80's selections to New Wave while Backbooth spreads the entire gamut and includes some late 70's and early 90's to the mix!
Cut loose, footloose!
A good time was had by all!

Why be a dj if you don't want ur picture taken?

'Cuz you're trying to hide the fact that you're WANTED by the law in 3 states! :)

(Or you have an ex-wife and nasty divorce.)

(Or both.)

Based on that equipment he's using, he's probably embarrassed..

Anon at 3:11PM, I agree.
Anon at 5:53PM, LOL but likely not accurate.
Anon at 10:54AM, don't know if it's his stuff or the club's stuff.

The beer selection at this place was great and rotates often. Everyone who works there makes you feel welcome. At NYC venues they remember your favorite drink and you will be glad to tweet about them.
