PI Update: What's Up at BET?

Last Tuesday we published first pictures of the demolition of BET Soundstage on beautiful Pleasure Island.
Today we give you exclusive Save Pleasure Island Blog SkyCam photos!
With the exterior of the building gone, we can now see the layout of the former dance club that was also previous home of Neon Armadillo.
Back in the day you'd enter the club off West End Plaza, there was a bar to your left that was always crowded.  There was a seating area to the far right up against the wall of Adventurers Club.  A long set of stairs led from there down to the lower level which was home to the main bar and the club's dance floor.
SkyCam view from 400'.
Zooming in on the north edge.
And the western edge where the separate bathroom complex used to stand.
The demolition did not take out the top level's floor.
So we have to assume they're going to reuse it in some fashion.
Adventurers Club and the former BET Soundstage space apparently will both be used for the new Edison Orlando restaurant and nightclub complex.

This end of Adventurers Club was gutted too during the BET demolition.

Nice view into what will likely become The Tunnels.  Concept art shows this area between AC and BET to have a building on it instead of open-aired so we suspect you would enter here and take elevators down to the lower level where The Tunnels will exist under West End Plaza.  Had our napping worker (below) rolled over, it looks like he would have fallen into The Tunnels!

You can even see where the stairs going down stairs in BET club were, blocked by a piece of wood, but still there. Just makes me miss the the clubs that much more.. Damn Mouse.

Love those skycam views of the progress!

Flowers, you're probably correct but this was likely a cheaper option.

Ray, during the early days of Hip Hop, BET Soundstage would be packed. In the final years Hip Hop had gone so mainstream that much of what got played at Motion was the same music and that's where the crowds migrated. Soundstage was often empty.

Thanks, Jeff! The Blog spares no expense in bringing you the latest updates.

I just have to really Disney didn't use common sense in closing all the clubs. It sounds like at the very least Mannequins and Aventurers Club could have kept right on operating all these years and would have fit in great with Disney Springs. All these years of lost revenue and I happy fans. And still they don't seem to have great plans.

Sorry, typos above due to the auto correct on my phone so reposting:

BET was never my favorite, but it was a different venue as you walked around. It was great to have all the options and diversity on the island. I agree with ann. above. Adventures Club could have stayed opened and fit right in with Disney Springs. Mannequins and 8traxx were my favorites, but I think the idea of "music nightclubs" is what Disney is/was trying to get away from.
