Club Report: The Groove

After a late dinner at House of Blues in crazy-crowded Downtown Disney last night, decided that a night out at The Groove was my best option.
And since I had not seen Tampa's DJ Tone (Hula Bay Club, The Hideaway) spinning before, that was on my "to do" list.
The TG dance floor was pretty crowded!
The music was a mix of TG staples with some Hip Hop and lots of EDM.
I liked it that he was never more than two songs away from another EDM song!
Was not able to find out whether they're going to do their "techno night" on the Sunday night of Labor Day weekend this year.  There was a rumor following last year's event ft. DJ Baby Anne that that was going to be the final year.  But we don't know for sure so stay tuned.
We do know DJ Mondo returns to play here on August 23rd!
View from down on the floor!

Some CO2 spraydowns, Mannequins-style, followed by this confetti bomb!

You can never go wrong with Go Go girls!
Good to finally get to see DJ Tone play at The Groove!
And a good time was had by all!

Bob, suggestion for ya. Take a pocket digital recorder with you and see if you can record for a while during your visit so that you can list songs/remixes as part of your report. Can't really get an idea of whether or not these guys know what they're doing with that equipment unless we get an idea of what they're playing. Programming is most of the work.

Too much work, Anon. I recognize plenty of songs, just don't remember them the next day. What I need is a pen and a pad to jot them down.

DJ Tone is the man. He always sets the tone/mood and keeps the place hype! when he's in town, I make sure to plan my night according to his schedule...I'm glad downtown had a chance to experience the Great Dj Tone!
