PI Update: Donkeys Of Pleasure Island

Save Pleasure Island Blog Reader ClubMaster shares with us this week the above video from Adam The Woo who likes to visit and film "closed places" and post them on his website.  In this film he visits beautiful Pleasure Island in March, 2011 which was a few months before the remaining club signs were removed.  My main criticism of this video would be that while the Pleasure Island name was based on Pinocchio, the Island's theming had nothing to do with Pinocchio that I'm aware of but the producer uses such a connection as its central theme.  Thanks for sharing, ClubMaster!  (Readers, if you're aware of PI videos we've not posted before, please email me the links!)

Would also love to see video of Disney executives with mouths agape as they came to realize that they are missing out on huge amounts of money by having closed the clubs on Pleasure Island. Or video of that "Aha!" moment when they realize how much business they've sent to other places like City Walk after hours. Then imagine how much publicity and interest the Island would be generating today if the clubs were still open. It's still unfathomable to me that the Island complex was so quickly closed. And the comedy/entertainment gem that was the Adventurers Club - truly a tragedy of Disney proportions as only Disney can produce...

I heard an interesting story the other day that Burbank did not even know that PI was being closed until it already was shut down. I have no way to verify that. Locally though, they refuse to acknowledge it was an error.

He's wrong actually, there are plenty of donkeys...up in those executive offices.

I would have to agree with that comment, also I thought the video was interesting, too bad the bunch of donkeys won't realize that keeping Pleasure Island, and the clubs closed won't make them any money.
P.S. I think they know they did a pretty dumb thing.
