Club Reports: Bikkuri Sushi Lounge, Senso Supper Club

A sushi restaurant might be the last place you'd expect to find Trance music but that's exactly where you'd find it in the case of Bikkuri Sushi!  And the full parking lot was a good early sign of fun to come!
DJ J13 (right) (Suite B Lounge, ProjectRadio.us)) was on the boards when I arrived and he gave way to DJ Agni shortly thereafter.  Four DJ's were taking turns putting out Trance and some classic Vocal Trance.
I've covered Trance events at this place several times over the past two years but this was the biggest crowd experienced here!  Good view of their incredible light walls in this picture too.
Males outnumbered the females on the dance floor but the overall crowd was a mix of both.  It was actually a lot darker in here than these flash photos indicate.
DJ Robb Blak took his turn revving up the crowd.  Blak and Agni created the bi-monthly event and last night's party was the 2-year anniversary celebration.
My only complaint is that the bar staff was ill-prepared for the crowd and getting a drink was a 20-minute ordeal.  But other than that there was great music and great ambiance!
Local Trance favorite DJ Cyberiansoundz continuing the cycle.  Come check this place out the first and third Saturdays of each month. Eating sushi not required!
Senso Supper Club is another restaurant / club combo.
Long and skinny, the restaurant tables become VIP tables later in the evening.  Virtually no one was in the place upon my arrival.
In Canada every club I've ever been to (BC, Ontario, Quebec) has these regulators to make sure bartenders only give you exactly one shot of liquor and no more.  I had never seen one at any club anywhere in the United States. Senso has them!  But I can tell you that they must have been dispensing more than a shot because drinks were strong.
When DJ Christian Falero (Nikki Beach Club, Cameo) came on I was embarrassed that he was playing to a nearly empty room.  But they were pumping the music out onto the street and within 30 minutes the place was actually jammed!  Resident DJ Loco Aragon (rear) (Blue Martini) had opened and was doing the sound and lighting for Falero.
The fog machine made it really difficult to take pictures in here.  He was playing a really great mix of known House, Progressive House and Tech House!
There is a small dance floor near the booth and then the entire floor of the club also had people dancing on it.
I saw DJ Ferry Corsten (NL) playing in here a few years ago when the club was still called Zinc Bar.  As Zinc or Senso, this is one place that has always stayed true to Electronic Dance Music!

Hey Bob... I'm almost positive that the "regulators" used to be used all over PI also... Do you remember them in use on the Island?

Ray, I don't recall them during the years I went to PI. I only remember direct pours, performed liberally.

I'll have to take a look through some old pictures... I swear they used them, but, it's been so long... Damn Mouse!

The recent March 12th article about bartender Bobby C has a picture of him preparing a Gin & Tonic for me. He's got a gun for the mixers but the pour out of the bottle is direct. But I can't speak for years ago.

Bob, just got a email from one of the bartenders at 8 Trax and she told me that I was wrong, they never did have them there. I don't remember where we saw them. Could have sworm it was there, but, again, it's been so long and they were such great times! (maybe wouldn't have been so good had they been using them..LOL)
