Don Cornelius Dead In Apparent Suicide

Long before there was Disco, long before there was Hip Hop, there was the television program Soul Train with host Don Cornelius.  We would be remiss if we did not mention his death earlier today of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.  Full details including video from Los Angeles station KTLA. I can recall a large group of girls from my grade school class in Chicago skipping school to appear on local dance TV show Kiddie-A-Go Go featuring Cornelius, a show he would ultimately take national and world-wide as Soul Train. The show would stay in syndication for 35 years!  Love, Peace and Soul to Don Cornelius.

The Soul Train show was and still is my biggest inspiration and motivation to dance. May Don rest in peace, love, and soul.

Loved Soul Train!!! All those platform shoes, bell bottoms and afros. Don was cooler than cool. So sorry he had health issues among other things, but I wonder why he wasn't "looked after" more and treasured by the entire entertainment community he helped make famous.

We don't really know to what extent the people he helped make famous "looked after" him in his later years. And I did not see mention of what his alleged health issues consisted of. Sad indeed.
