Disco Returns To Sirius/XM

Sirius/XM Satellite Radio introduced a new dance channel today called Studio 54 Radio! The commercial-free channel is devoted to classic Dance and Disco and features many old recorded mixes from the original Studio 54 dance club in New York. The channel is included at no extra charge for those with subscriptions and is located on XM 15 and Sirius 15. I'd forgotten just how long some of those Disco songs could get; this afternoon they played the entire 8:20 version of Diana Ross' Love Hangover!

I was listening to this station last night. Apparently two of the three original DJ's from Studio 54 are programming the station (the third has passed away). And, yes they play a lot of "long versions". Some of the music is great, classic club music, but some, I'm sorry to say, sounds pretty cheesy.

Thanks for the info about the station. I think on their first evening of operation, in their first hour of operation, they could have played a lot more Disco hits in quick succession. Not an impressive start, IMO.
