PI Update: Construction Trailer Coming Soon; Magnetron Closing

You'll recall that last week we posted 4 permits related to the refurbishment of Mannequins, Comedy Warehouse, Adventurers Club and BET Soundstage. On Monday two more permits were filed with Orange County. One was a second permit for Adventurers Club. It reads the same as the one filed last week with the only difference (besides the County Doc numbers) being that last week's permit referred to DTD Adventurers Club while the new one refers to it only as DTD Adventurers. Why they would file two permits for the same property is a mystery.

Of more interest is the Notice pictured above. They have filed a permit for "DTD Pleasure Island Admin. Trailer" to be located at 1508 E. Buena Vista Drive in Lake Buena Vista. What is that, the renovation administrative trailer? And where is that? Some of the other addresses out there are:
1490 E BUENA VISTA DRIVE - HOUSE OF BLUES
1498 E BUENA VISTA DRIVE - BONGO'S CUBAN CAFE
1499 E BUENA VISTA DRIVE - WETZEL'S
1500 E BUENA VISTA DRIVE - AMC DTD 24
1560 E BUENA VISTA DRIVE - BET SOUNDSTAGE
1570 E BUENA VISTA DRIVE - ADVENTURERS CLUB
1580 E BUENA VISTA DRIVE - COMEDY WAREHOUSE
1590 E BUENA VISTA DRIVE - PARADISO 37
1600 E BUENA VISTA DRIVE - MANNEQUINS
Thus, this trailer appears to be going to be parked somewhere west of PI, perhaps out in the main parking lot. What's promising about all these recent permits is that they were filed for Buena Vista Construction Company. That arm of the Mouse empire is typically involved in themed construction as concieved by Disney Imagineers. So we can remain hopeful. After 3 years, things are finally starting to happen on Pleasure Island! Meanwhile, Orlando Attractions Magazine is reporting that the Magnetron store in DTD West Side is closing at the end of September to be replaced with Blink by Wet Seal, a trendy clothing store. They also report that the new Apricot Lane store on PI opens this Friday.

I'm betting on a D23 announcement if this is something big,

WDW is under hard lock-down on information right now so it could be they want all info announced at D23 with no advance leaks.

No inside info here, just pure speculation--could the second "Adventurers" permit be for the Jungle Juice hut? Maybe it was officially named "Adventurers Club [outside bar or words to that effect]" and the permit just shortened it.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

a truck of plywood was delivered today to board the whole place up

Well that sounds interesting but hopefully they'll reconsider reopening 8Trax, along with the other clubs.
You are also right it's been three years and hopefully things are looking up.
So lets fix up and reopen these five clubs, and not let it be another two years for people to party.

P.S. Hope that Wet seal store will go.

Typically, the PI Admin Trailer is the office trailer near PH / CW:

Yes, hopefully there will be a big PI announcement at D23 next Friday.

71, it's possible that Adventurers just refers to the snack hut out there. Makes some sense.

Hey Anon at 12:46pm, if they reopened the clubs and built a DVC at DTD, I'd probably purchase a week!

Joe, your internet skills are amazing! So is that skinny little "building" to the right of the red path the trailer you're referring to? Never knew that was there!

Actually, it's the white roofed building to the left of the red path.
Check out this map for more detail

This trailer has offices, conference rooms, used to have a Disney Transportation dispatch office. I think PI Operations had offices there. Entertainment had their offices under Hill Street.

The green building is just a storage shed.

NEVER knew that was back there....amazing. Thanks!

Good to see Motion and RRBC again, good to see the PI ticket booth at the Number 1 Bridge, good to see the Missing Link again, good to see the side stairs at Mannequins again, good to see the PI Live booth back in place again!
