That is a shame, considering at one time there was a Factory in that vicinity who's sole purpose was the creation of Fireworks. Allow me to quote from the Pleasure Island Papaers:

"In the early 20’s, Pleasure employed the leading fireworks expert in the world, a Chinese gentleman known only as “The Bang Master”. Together they staged a series of amazing July 4th fireworks exhibits for the people of Central Florida. These went on until July 3 1927, when the two of them were preparing for their biggest show yet. A spark from Pleasure’s pipe blew up the entire factory with a KA-BOOM that was heard all the way in Tampa. Mrs. Pleasure insisted that the wreckage of the building be left as is, to teach her husband a lesson."

Wake up Disney and once again embrace the history that still exists on our beloved Pleasure Island!

I must also mention that Merriweather Adam Pleasure was born on July 4th 1873, and his sons Stewart and Henry Pleasure were born on July 4th, 1901 and 1905 respectively. Also his daughter Merriam was born on July 3rd, 1911, but Merriweather had the date legally changed to July 4th. Happy birthday to all of them and Kungaloosh!

Well we know that in 1989 that fireworks factory was rebuilt and turned into Fireworks Factory Restaurant. It converted to a Wild Horse Saloon from 1998 to 2001 and then as club Motion from 2001 to 2008. In late 2010 it was demolished.
