PI Update: Will New Pathway Construction Resume?

CLICK ON IMAGE TO ENLARGE We're always scanning the construction permits/notices of commencement filed by Disney with Orange County. Many of these notices involve Buena Vista Construction Company as contractor. And many notices are particularly vague as to what they're for. This past week there were notices for unspecified construction work in Downtown Disney at Rainforest Cafe, Pollo Campero  and Days of Christmas. And then there was this one posted above pertaining to "Downtown Disney Planter Walls." This of course could be for anywhere in DTD however I am posting it because that new pathway could use some planter walls as it winds its way through the former homes of RRBC and Motion.  So if that's what it's for, perhaps we'll see some movement on that soon! But again, there are lots of planters throughout DTD so this could be for any of them. No drawings were included to give any specificity to this.

Ton of construction guys back there "behind the wall" yesterday. The grass is green again, and the service entrance on Portabello looks complete or close to complete. Looks like we'll get even more planters in lieu of an ampitheater.

BTW, have you seen the planter with tree placed in front of the remaining PI plaque at the entrance?

This might not be for the PI area, I know in market place at "Design a TEE" behind the store they are expanding the building and building new walls. It might be for that, but thats a guess from me.

Are they really going to go thru with changing the name to Hyperion wharf? That is so stupid I mean isnt that going to cost millions of dollars just to change the signs.

71Jason, they've blocked the PI plaque? How tacky. I wonder if they've covered the other plaques around the Island. Will check it out ASAP.

This is certainly an outstanding write-up. Thanks a lot for spending some time to summarize all this out for folks. It truly is a great guide!
