PI Update: 8TRAX Lit Up Tonight

For the first time that we're aware of in over 2-1/2 years, the outside lights at 8TRAX are shining brightly this evening as shown in these pics taken by Save Pleasure Island Blog roving reporter William.
The chains that kept spectators away from Mannequins, 8TRAX and Soundstage doors have also been removed. What does it all mean? Amid rumors of Mannequins, Orlando Harley and 8TRAX being turned into a large restaurant, amid sightings of Disney managers touring the closed clubs and amid rumors that Hyperion Wharf may have been indefinitely postponed if not outright cancelled, we don't really know! It's a story the Blog is working on! Maybe someone just forgot to turn off the lights.

Very interesting! Sounds like it would require a conscious effort at this point to turn the lights ON...

And the chains removed?

Not saying this looks promising...but it's some change, just don't know what it all means or why it's happened!

Good catch, thanks!

Maybe they'll start playing a 70's music loop on the outside speakers just to ---- with us.

So what you are saying is that Disney is actually wasting money on hydro to power these lights for somewhere that isn't being used? Now why would they do that? It is not like they wasted money by closing all the clubs that were making money and replaced them with useless grass...but then again it seems like Disney management is content with watching things waste away.

sounds like to me that They turned on the lights so it will not be so Dark?

< opinion, not fact and not rumor>
I think the chains being gone is the biggest question. That takes an active decision to remove, not like the lights which could just be a mistake.

Zule, "< opinion, not fact and not rumor>" - You are too funny! Thank you and Bob for the smiles everyday...
Yes, I agree... the chains are the biggest question... The lights on could just have been an oversight, a switch left on...

I think it's more likely that they are trying to make it "look" as if it's not just a bunch of abandoned buildings.... There has been no rumor's around the world of any sudden reopening.

There is a lot of activity going on at PI latley at the above mentioned clubs. Plus Exec & Managers seen walking out of the Adventurers Club Monday afternoon. Most activity I've seen in the past 2 years and I am there a lot

Well, not entirely true. I'm just not able to report on it yet because I'm trying to verify a few things. Thanks for the report of activity at AC on Monday. Had not heard that one.

oh man. this is the most exciting news in a while. anything new to grasp on this? turning motion and rnr to grass, bad idea. mann, 8trax, ad-lib, soundstage, and comedy need to pull through and reopen. the thousands of people that go to DTD every night are STILL looking for nightlife. most that go, still have no idea that the clubs have been closed for almost 3 years now. open your eyes WDW management. poor business planning on your part.

OH sorry I should have said Opinion! on my post! I don't want to be told I am trying to say fact!

Hopefully this is the beginning of the clubs maybe reopening.
So let the Managers and the "Execs" get it together and do just that.
"Reopen them".
Again lets all remember that it's been three years too long, now is the time for everybody to light up the lights, so people can party and, have nightlife.
P.S.
Thanks for this exciting information Bob.
