PI Update: Story of the Eagles Nest

A recent article in the Orlando Sentinel referred to a poll conducted of New Yorkers or other northerners asking if they planned to head south this year for Spring Break? The overwhelming answer, following their  cold crappy winter up there, was yes. And by far the destination of choice was Florida. And that's great for the economy of Central Florida because lots of them are going to want to ride the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and then go partying on beautiful Pleasure Island. At least they'll be able to do one of the two!
This is the Eagles Nest dock on Pleasure Island at the beginning of February. It was located on the off-limits side of club Motion which of course is no longer there either.
It's now been demolished along with the club. Save Pleasure Island Blog roving reporter Thommy reports that it was called The Eagles Nest because when Michael Eisner would visit the Island back in the day, the radio call would go out that "The Eagle has landed". Eisner was a big PI fan.
From the water side one can see that Adventurers Club and Soundstage are one building. Competing rumors are not resolved; one has this being demolished right after Spring Break while the other has the demolition on hold until next year. Stay tuned to the Blog for updates!

If they (vacationers) can't have the "Island", they will make use of the "Walk".. Another great money making season is upon us, and Disney still continues to screw it up! Thank you Eisner for all the great years of Pleasure! And, To all the new schmucks...you idiots! Hope the "water show" brings alot of buisness for you... Fools! Sorry Bob...just a little bit upset (STILL) to this day....can you tell?

"Eagles Nest" ? ..wasn't that the name of Hitler's perch too ?

Anyone know of any good clubs to go to in toronto?

Yes, more money-making opportunities squandered! 8TRAX could be refitted and open for business within a week if they would simply do it. They would make TONS of money.

Eagles Nest was the name of Hitler's mountain-top perch above Berchtesgaden, Germany.

In Toronto you'll find one of the Top 10 clubs of the world called "The Guvernment". Always House music on Saturday nights, often with big-name DJ's. Crazy packed.

The only other Toronto night club I'm familiar with is Body English in west suburban Mississauga. You'd need a car.

Back in the city, the area just west of the main downtown core is called the "ETD" - the Entertainment District. Tons of theaters, shops, restaurants and night clubs in this area along King, Queen & Dundas Streets. Many websites list what's available there.

Thanks for your help Bob. I would be heading over to Orlando but not without Pleasure Island. I miss Motion.

Anon 3:08... The next time you are back in Orlando, check out City Walk @ Universal. If you liked Motion, you will really enjoy Red Coconut Club and The Groove... both play Top 40, Dance, and Hip Hop. City Walk has great options every where you turn. Give it a shot....you won't be disappointed!

I would say The Groove is far more like Motion than RCC. RCC plays the same music but it's much smaller with a completely different vibe. The Groove is large and jammed, just like Motion.
