PI Update: Around the Island

Looking to spend the "night time of your life"? Well what better place to spend it than beautiful Pleasure Island. What's new on the Island besides demolition? Not a lot, but the Blog likes to keep you updated anyway........

Boring construction walls can look much more beautiful with night time decorating!

The human statue angel and guitar player still perform on the island. Apparently a third human statute was never added. Nonetheless, they are popular with passersby and present a pretty cool photo op. The Pleasure Island hot dog stand adjacent Soundstage is long-gone.

If there is any doubt whether musical acts are going to continue performing at the West End Plaza than you need look no further than the new stages that have been installed there. Originally both the Purple Stage and Green Stage had the performers working on rubber mats as shown in the archive photo directly above. But now both stages have been equipped with.....stages! They're raised off the ground with a grooved metallic surface to stand on. (Upper photo)

The demolition is next to impossible to view at night but RRBC still stands for the moment.

Our poor Island... Thank you City Walk for giving us an alternative....
And, the Pub Crawl sounds like fun.
Thanks Bob for the picture of the empty (storage) space at City Walk.... I had no idea what space you were talking about.
