Club Reports: Bliss, Boss, Deja Vu, Pourhouse, Tabu, Independent Bar

It was a beautiful warm evening in Orlando last night so I figured downtown clubs would be packed. Such was not the case as apparently everyone did their partying on New Years Eve instead. Not that every club was empty; some had crowds nonetheless including Bliss Ultra Lounge featuring DJ Mickey Bono (Beat Thrillerz, RadioDanz.com)

The Bliss dance floor got pretty packed around midnight. The House/Dance music here on Saturday nights is as close to Mannequins as you're likely to experience in Orlando.
Mannequins!

Boss is a new downtown club located on Pine Street. DJ Freefall (Vintage, Dragon Room, CityWalk Techno Night) was in the booth playing mostly Top 40. Fun place but this was one of the venues with just a small crowd on hand.

Deja Vu Ultra Lounge is another new venue on Pine Street. During my intial visit a few weeks ago the music was mostly House/Techno but last night it was mostly Hip Hop. Less than 20 patrons in the place though.

It's been more than a year since I last dropped in on the Downtown Orlando PourHouse. I was surprised that the same DJ Bevrlykills was still there, spinning Top 40 and Hip Hop. Small venue where anyone wanting to dance has to dance in place. But that is what people were doing. Fairly crowded too.

Tabu Night Club was absolutely jammed for DJ Richie Rich and his mix of Top 40, Hip Hop and a little bit of Dance. You could hardly move in the place.  Richie Rich spins House and Dance tonight at House of Blues Service Industry Night.

Finished off the night at Independent Bar where DJ Indie John plays 80's New Wave/Old Wave. Got crowded but not as much as a typical Saturday night. But still a very fun and very cool venue!

Damn, that's a lot of clubs in one night.
