Dueling Pianos Everywhere!

Do we really need so many dueling piano bars in Orlando? Apparently the answer is YES because we're about to have our 4th one opening soon. The newcomer is called Baby Grands and it will be opening on Church Street in downtown Orlando. And that's probably a great location as Church Street revives and downtown serves a completely different crowd. The others are Howl At The Moon (International Drive), Pat O'Brien's (Universal CityWalk) & Jellyrolls (Disney's Boardwalk).

These establishments seem to be immensely popular with those in their 20's and also with older folks who have no desire to go out dancing but enjoy a night out with a few drinks. Some are livelier than others. My first experience with a dueling piano bar was at the Jellyrolls in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. It was so crowded and everyone was singing that it almost felt like a religious experience! I was hooked. There used to be a Jellyrolls in Ybor City/Tampa but it folded. The one at Disney may be the only one remaining but it stays crowded. Readers, do you have a favorite of those in the Orlando area?

My downtown geography is weak, is this the same address as the old Howl? I hope so, that was a smaller space but really lent itself to the dueling pianos format more than the most spaces.

Now if only someone would revive Jungle Jim's...

YES, I loved Have a Nice Day Cafe. I wish they would bring that back. It was a fun crowd and there were cool peeps there.

Jason71, I think I might have eaten at Jungle Jim's one time. But it was just a restaurant, wasn't it?

I've heard of Have A Nice Day Cafe but never got to experience it. I've been told they had one of those flashing light dance floors kind of like what I recently experienced at FunkyTown in Montreal.

Maybe Church Street will start to come back, and then grow in popularity.

Once Disney management sees all the business they are losing to Church Street, they'll open some sort of nightclub district which caters more to adults.

Hmmmmm.....

Yeah, Jungle Jims was a restaurant, but it made a fun night paired with Howl. Only made it to Have a Nice Day Cafe a couple times, but enjoyed that as well.
