Breaking News: Hot Dog Cart Opens On Island!

I know many of you have been waiting for the Hot Dog Hall of Fame to open on Pleasure Island but at least now you won't have to wait any longer for that dog! The new hot dog cart has opened at Celebration Plaza adjacent Soundstage. I'm told this is not outsourced but real Disney dogs. It's just an experiment to see how it does. Bold new vision: things keep getting better!

They do need to make this more visible though. Two sources told me a week ago that a hot dog cart was coming and a construction permit had been issued so I was looking for this. But when I arrived on the island last night to photo the performers in the ultra-lounge I completely missed the hot dog stand. They need to either add some flashing lights or do what the hot dog stands downtown do: grill some onions. Mmmm. You can't miss it! Sales will triple!

Not even trying to be snarky this time, but how are the prices?

I did not ask about the prices. I'm sure they can't undercut Wetzels.

A hot dog cart! What a Bold new vision!

Yep, that's DTD F&B operating it, so same dogs you'd find elsewhere at Disney.

Based on your photo, it looks like prices are:
Hot Dog Combo ... 8.50
(Chip / Soda)
Hot Dog ......... 5.00
Chips ........... 2.00
(Bottled Soda) .. 2.50
Dasani Water..... 2.50

...which seems rather pricey.

Typically, Disney keeps fairly consistent with pricing, so that's probably about the same price you'd pay in the parks.

Yeah, that's about the same as Casey's...the difference being Casey's has a lot more atmoshphere, and doesn't have competition across the street selling dogs 2 for $2.

2 for $2? Would that be the HESS station?

I was out there during the day today and none of the hot dog cart stuff was there.
I guess they put it away and bring it out in the evenings.
...seems like alot of work.

Well there must not be a demand for hot dogs during the day. And truly, the crowds are there at night when the entertainment begins.

Sit back on the cushioned wicker, enjoy the next Justin Timberlake, snarf a Disney Dog and wash it all down with a frosty cold one.
