Summer Concerts at EPCOT

Disney recently announced their Sounds Like Summer Concert Series taking place at EPCOT this summer. Here is the lineup:
  • June 12 - June 19: Stayin' Alive - A Tribute to The Bee Gees
  • June 20 - June 26: Hotel California - A Salute to the Eagles
  • June 27 - July 3: Karin Lawson - A Tribute to Janet Jackson
  • July 4 - July 10: Satisfaction - A Tribute to The Rolling Stones
  • July 11 - July 17: Slippery When Wet - The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute
  • July 18 - July 24: 2U - A Tribute to U2
  • July 25 - July 31: Beginnings - A Tribute to CHICAGO
What I find curious is that Universal brings actual known bands and recording artists but Disney brings tribute bands that play the music of known bands and recording artists. For instance, the band Chicago recently played Universal Studios whereas EPCOT will have a band called Beginnings that will play Chicago's music. On the other hand, Chicago played one concert but these tribute bands will play 3 concerts each night for a week. Concert times are 5:45pm, 7:00pm & 8:15pm (except July 4th: 5:15pm, 6:30pm, 7:45pm, 9:00pm) 8TRAX fans should enjoy the Salute to the Bee Gees!

Wow, what happened to getting orignal bands? I have seen some great preformers at Epcot in the past years. Would I go to see a tribute band, probably not....Hey maybe we can get them to do a tribute to PI club since that seems to be all the rage.....lol

I got to see Expose at Parliment House a few years back...which we of course recently had confirmed is NOT a place you would necessarily find yourself Bob...lol. Anyways though if you had the chance to see them at Epcot I would highly recommend it---they are as beautiful and talented as they were ...TWENTY!!!..years ago.

I agree that tribute bands are quite common during summer. It's a great thing that the real bands will be performing by fall. Similar to EPCOT, we do have interesting set of solo and group acts at the summer concerts in Denver. Summer concerts are one of the most awaited summer events in Denver. My friends and I are looking forward to that event every year.

I also like the future performances at EPCOT in fall. I'd probably go there to see a couple of shows. Thanks!
