DJ ATB Coming To Orlando

It's been a few months without any big name DJ's stopping by but that's about to end! The #4 DJ in the world is coming to Orlando on Thursday, June 17th at Roxy. I'm talking about DJ Andre Tanneberger (D), better known to House fans as ATB. He's had a lot of hits but two that come immediately to mind are "9pm (Till I Come)" & "Don't Stop", both featuring the sexy vocals of Yolanda Rivera. Put this on your calendar as Orlando continues to draw the world's best!

May I ask, and this is not meant to be any kind of put down or anything just a simple question, what exactly is it about Orlando that draws these big names to the city?? Is it just the tourist trade making for profitable conditions or just the local crowd?

Legitimate question. IMO, it's the locals. Orlando has a history of supporting techno music from near its beginning in the early 90's and downtown Orlando had a club/rave scene that was nationally renowned. A number of well-known DJ's came from or still operate from Orlando. When Disney opened Mannequins it was recognition of the need to have that genre represented and it introduced even more people to the music.

Miami remains the nation's top dog when it comes to DJ-driven electronic dance music but Orlando remains a top-drawing market. I don't think tourists are much of a factor in tht.

It's quite simple my friends. Techno music is essentially mainstream over in the European continent. The Europeans love to spend their vacation time and money (thankfully) right here in the Sunshine State. They bring their music with them, and they expect to hear it here as well. That explains why Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and even the Tampa Bay area are the top European-style dance markets in all of North America. We love to party - and dance !

When I visit other American cities outside Florida, it's virtually impossible to find a club playing Techno or House. (Except NYC, LV & LA)
